Accounting Manager

SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Accounting Manager, a vital member of Noonday’s senior leadership team, is entrusted with leading a best-in-class Accounting and Finance department. Responsible for overseeing all accounting and human resource operations, the Accounting Manager ensures accurate reporting and compliance while providing strategic insights to management.
POSITION LOCATION: Austin, Texas with hybrid work flexibility
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- GAAP and Tax Financial Management
- Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure accuracy and compliance with appropriate GAAP standards in QuickBooks Online.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
- Maintain internal audit best practices to protect against fraud and error.
- Management Financial Reporting, Modeling, and Forecasting
- Provide support to owners and executive leadership through management reporting.
- Coordinate financial planning and analysis, including creating forecasting models.
- Analyze cash flow and variances, offering insightful explanations.
- Maintain control over day-to-day accounting activities and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
- Support special projects and cross-functional teams with accurate data and expense control.
- Payroll and Human Resource Management
- Oversee payroll and benefits administration.
- Collaborate with Co-CEO to update employee handbook and recommend company benefits.
- Assist Co-CEO with hiring and personnel issues.
- Accounts Payable and Sales Tax
- Ensure efficient operation of Accounts Payable and Sales Tax reporting.
- Supervise wire transfers to Artisan Business Partners.
- Purchase Order Tracking, Inventory Accounting, and Inventory Forecasting
- Reconcile inventory with internal systems and third-party fulfillment provider.
- Conduct financial analysis and provide commentary on inventory fluctuations.
- Support Product Team in tracking PO deliveries and ensuring inventory accuracy.
- Work with Product Team to forecast inventory reorder needs.
- Ambassador Compensation and Sales Reporting
- Process Ambassador commissions and conduct monthly audits.
- Generate weekly sales analytics reports and other ad-hoc reports as needed.
- Produce annual 1099s and file with the IRS.
- Oversee monthly and quarterly sales tax reporting.
KEY CUSTOMERS
- Owners (reporting and financial management), Sales Team (analytics), Production (inventory and payments), Ambassadors (commission)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business administration required
- Experience in budgeting, financial forecasting, and/or inventory accounting preferred
- CPA preferred
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of QuickBooks Online a plus
- Experience with an inventory-based business
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong analytical skills to data interpretation
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
